"Trust Seeks To Enrich Children's Educational Experiences"

As a result of the work of the Strategic Planning Committee, the Haddonfield Educational Trust, Inc. was created to support the community's educational missions through outside sources such as grants, sponsorships and donations.

The Trust, as it is known, actually has two components: the Scholarship Fund and the Education Fund. The Scholarship Fund is already in existence and has been offering scholarships to Haddonfield's students for many years now. Its members are comprised of Board of Education, PTA, and school administrative representatives. However, the Education Fund has been developed to address exciting programs that would otherwise be left unfunded in our current economic situation.

In January, 2003, the Education Fund elected its first officers and Board of Trustees, as well as adopted its Mission: "The Haddonfield Educational Trust, Inc. is a non-profit foundation dedicated to supporting the educational quality of the Haddonfield Public Schools by providing support for innovative and creative educational initiatives through supplemental fundraising from private donors, corporatepartnerships, grant opportunities and community outreach."

According to Trust founding member James McManus, "There is no investment more important than the education of our children and the educational trust gives us a way to contribute in areas that will make a huge difference."

"A determination to maintain quality programming in our schools is a major factor in our annual budget deliberations," says Board of Education President, Pat Haines. "We are thrilled with this initiative and what it says about the broader commitment to our children."
