Public Relations/Non-Profit Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW
Non-profit Internship providing direct support to the Board of Trustees and the President of the Board of Trustees. This internship involves administrative assignments, preparing and writing donor letters, researching issues, preparing reports, communicating with donors and supporters, event planning, and assisting with promotional work for fundraising and community outreach events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Writing assignments; including donor letters, blog posts, and press releases

Providing administrative support to the Board of Trustees

Attend meetings and events as a representative of the HET

Assist with event planning for annual fundraising events

Assist with social media promotion for annual fundraising events

Collaborate with Trustees to create new ideas for campaigns to support lead generation efforts

Assist with project coordination
-
Assist with Press Release distribution

Other projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Preferred consideration offered to students who have completed one year of college. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function. • Excellent computer knowledge for both MAC and PC environment • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Power Point), as well as WordPress, data base management and social media tools • Excellent communications skills, with a strong interest in creating content • Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize workload and meet deadlines. MUST be proactive, organized and detail-oriented • Able and willing to adapt to various duties and be flexible • Access to a stable internet connection, if working remotely

WORK HOURS/BENEFITS
Flexible 10-12 hours/ week during the summer of 2023; At least 8 weeks of employment, with the possibility to continue on a flex basis during the Fall semester.
8-week stipend = $1,500
